Description	:	Norman "Kay" Ekberg was born on Sept. 16, 1938, to Caleb and Norma Cassens Ekberg in Wray. Kay graduated from Wray High School in 1956 and attended the Denver Bible Institute for one year. On May 28, 1958, he married Eloise O'Brien and they were blessed with three children. They enjoyed farming and ranching together. In 1964, Eloise was tragically taken in a horse accident. In 1970, the family moved to the Sterling area where Kay worked at the Sterling Beef Plant. Read More	Norman "Kay" Ekberg was born on Sept. 16, 1938, to Caleb and Norma Cassens Ekberg in Wray. Kay graduated from Wray High School in 1956 and attended the Denver Bible Institute for one year. On May 28, 1958, he married Eloise O'Brien and they were blessed with three children. They enjoyed farming and ranching together. In 1964, Eloise was tragically taken in a horse accident. In 1970, the family moved to the Sterling area where Kay worked at the Sterling Beef Plant. In 1978, the family moved to Wichita, KS, where he built swimming pools. In 1979, they returned to the Sterling area and he began his career in construction. On Jan. 16, 1982, he married Ginger Imhof. They moved to Fort Collins and he continued new endeavors in water and sewer treatment plant construction. He was injured in 1978[89] and was forced to retire and his lifestyle was changed. He became the stay-at-home grandpa. His two grandsons were his hired men. His favorite hobbies were fishing, boating and spending time with his family. He served on the board of trustees for the Foothills Wesleyan Church and taught Sunday School. He was preceded in death by his father, Caleb and wife, Eloise. [Living survivors omitted.] A wake will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Collins. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beech Island Community Church in Beech Island, CO. Interment at Armel Cemetery. Bohlender Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.--The Coloradoan
