Norman Lee Maifeld was born April 13, 1926, in Butler County, Washington Township, Iowa to Henry G. and Lillie Mae (Harris) Maifeld. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He attended rural school in Washington Township. On January 12, 1949, he was united in marriage to Imogene Ella Bierman at her parents' home in Aplington, Iowa. Norman farmed and was a farm hand for many years. He then worked for the City of Hampton for several years and worked for AM Cyanamid at the time of his retirement. Norman passed away August 19, 2010, at the Israel Family Hospice House. He is survived by his son Duane and wife Becky Maifeld of Hubbard; grandson Andy Maifeld and wife Lisa; granddaughter Gretchen Maifeld; great-granddaughter Madison Maifeld; great-grandsons Jayden and Cole Maifeld and Landon Myers; and brother Lloyd Maifeld of Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Imogene, daughter Virginia, grandson Jamie Maifeld, brother Mern and sister Lavola. Friends may call at Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard, IA, one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard. Norman will be buried at Washington Reformed Church Cemetery in Ackley.
