Read More	OBITUARY From the Rimbey Review Newspaper February 20, 2002 MUDDLE - Mr. Norman Muddle of Rimbey, Alberta passed away in the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Sunday, February 17, 2002 at the age of 84 years surrounded by his family. Norman was born at Sounding Lake, Alberta, near Monitor on May 13, 1917. He moved to Rimbey with his family in the fall of 1937, where they farmed north of town. On January 24, 1940, Norman married Janie Swartz, and the young couple moved to their own farm in the Montavista District northeast of Rimbey. Together they lived and farmed in the same location for the next 61 years. On November 25, 1942 their first child, Allan was born. A daughter Norma was born on March 9, 1946 and a second daughter Penny was born on April 4, 1959. Norman and Janie farmed, milked cows, and raised purebred Herefords on the same farmstead until the mid eighties. Norman took special pride in raising and training quarter horses. As a family, they were active in local horse clubs and participated in many local horse shows and gymkhanas. Norman was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Annie Muddle, two brothers, Spen and Ken, and one sister, Nancy Stringer. Norman is survived by his loving wife Janie of Rimbey, one son, Allan (Pat) Muddle of Rimbey, two daughters, Norma (Babe) and (Ian) Ross of Lacombe, Penny (Patrick) Gillespie of Delacour, Alberta, seven grandchildren, Kathy (Tony) Kamlah of Lacombe, Steven (Brenda) Muddle of Swift Current, Sask., Chris Ross of Lacombe, Rod Muddle of Edmonton, Colin Gillespie of Calgary, Devon Gillespie of Delacour, Eric Gillespie of Delacour, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Mollie Gyori of Red Deer and Peggy (Alex) Gillespie of Rimbey and by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Funeral services will be held from the Rimbey United Church on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 2;00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Roadhouse officiating. Interment will follow in the West Haven Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Rimbey Long Term Care Unit, Area 1, P.O. Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0 or to the Alberta Foundation for Diabetes Research, 1214_163 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5V 1K6.
