Description	:	Norman Orville Lambert Norman Lambert, age 75, of Broadus died on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus. Mr. Lambert was born at Pinelle, Mont., on May 13, 1935, to William and Vera Lambert. He lived at the family homestead on Box Elder until 1941, when the family moved to Ekalaka. Read More	Norman Orville Lambert Norman Lambert, age 75, of Broadus died on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus. Mr. Lambert was born at Pinelle, Mont., on May 13, 1935, to William and Vera Lambert. He lived at the family homestead on Box Elder until 1941, when the family moved to Ekalaka. He went to school in Ekalaka until 1952, when he moved to Newell, S.D., where he finished his schooling. Mr. Lambert started the work force very early. He started working in a butcher shop at the age of 10 and was "skinning cat" at age 13. He went to San Diego after he got out of school and worked as a Culligan man. He met and married Carol Drane on July 15, 1958. They moved to the Jock Sanburn ranch to work. Later that fall they moved to the Matson place, where they worked for Earl Drane. They then leased the family homestead and moved there. Norman Earl was born in 1959, William (Billy) Ray in 1960 and Marcus Alan was born in 1967. Mr. Lambert was very concerned about the county and served on many boards. He served on the county weed board and the ASCS board. He belonged to the Carter Co. Sheep and Cattle Growers and the State Woolgrowers and Stockgrowers. He was instrumental in starting the Cochran Grazing Association and served as their president for many years. He was a Carter Co. Commissioner for 12 years. He believed in really listening to the people in the county. He would drop whatever he was doing to help any friend or neighbor who needed him. He loved people. His hobbies included cards, pool, reading, hunting, fishing, watching wildlife and working in his shop. Mr. Lambert lived for his sons and their families. His grandkids were the light of his life and he spent much of his time with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Vera Lambert, one sister, Lois Engel, and three brothers, Everette, Bill and Laurence. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons: Norm, Bill (Kara) and Marc; six grandchildren: Kara Lou and Cammie Jo Lambert, Kelsey and Shylee Lambert, Chantz Lambert and Misty Kilgore; one sister, Philis (Don) Seaman; sisters-in-law Johnella Lambert and Joy Lambert, Thelma Richardson, Betsy (Myron) Diebel; brothers-in-law: Allen (Ella Mae) Drane and Larry Drane; special family member Laura Lambert; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Broadus. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Valley View Cemetery.
