Norman was born February 13, 1938 in David City, NE to Ray and Ella (Harris) Adkins. He lived in Fremont most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Janet; step-daughters, Robin and husband, Michael Manning of Ames, NE and Lisa Nusser of Fremont; step-son, Robert and wife, Lori Bales of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Cindy Adkins of Lawrenceburg, TN; sister, Kay and husband, Andy Lewalln of Huntsville, AL; half brother, Skip and wife, Jenell Adkins of Huntsville, AL; his grandchildren, Jordan Adkins of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ryan Adkins and Jarrod Adkins of Ft. Myers, FL; 7 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Adkins; and step-father, Kenneth Ferguson. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont. The Rev. Aaron Horton will officiate. Visitation on Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 5 PM to 7 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation on Thursday at church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity yet to be determined." Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 N. Somers Ave., Fremont, NE 68025.
