Description	:	NORMAN R. COLLINS CUMBERLAND - Norman R. “ Dutch” Collins, 88, of 240 Columbia Street, died Monday, March 2, 1992 at Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cumberland on July 8, 1903, son of the late Sanford W. and Mary Ann (Meeks) Collins. Mr. Collins was self-employed in the family business, the Collins Used Furniture Store. He also worked for Bennett Gas and Electric and operated a service station in Bowman’s Addition. Later he was employed at Murphy’s Furniture Mart on North Centre Street. COLLINS CUMBERLAND - Norman R. “ Dutch” Collins, 88, of 240 Columbia Street, died Monday, March 2, 1992 at Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cumberland on July 8, 1903, son of the late Sanford W. and Mary Ann (Meeks) Collins. Mr. Collins was self-employed in the family business, the Collins Used Furniture Store. He also worked for Bennett Gas and Electric and operated a service station in Bowman’s Addition. Later he was employed at Murphy’s Furniture Mart on North Centre Street. Mr. Collins was a member of Central United Methodist Church and Cumberland Aerie 245, Fraternal Order of Eagles. His wife, Ethel Margaret (Ehrbar) Collins, died Nov. 3, 1982. A brother, James Collins, and two sisters, Amanda Vandegrift and Ethel Powell, also preceded him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Eugenia “Jean” Dullabaun, Hagerstown, and Shirley James, with whom Mr. Collins resided on Columbia Street; two sons, Bradley S. Collins, Hancock, and Gerald R. Collins, Spring Hill, Fla.; one stepson, Thomas E. James, Cumberland; one sister, Jane Valentine Brady, Cumberland; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home. Services will be conducted there Friday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Brenda Hollis. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Published Wednesday, March 4, 1992 in THE CUMBERLAND TIMES-NEWS, Cumberland, Maryland on page 4-C, col. 3.
