Read More	Obituary Shelburne Free Press & Economist - Wednesday, March 1, 1961 NORMAN CROMBIE: The death took place on Monday, February 13th, 1961, of Norman Crombie in St. Michael's hospital, Toronto. Son of the late James Crombie and Lizzie Reid, he was born on March 1st, 1883. Outside of a few years spent in Shelburne and Toronto, Mr. Crombie spent his entire life in Amaranth township. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Percy Crombie; grandson Wilbert Crombie, of Black's Corners, and a brother Stanley, of Brampton. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Laura Banks, in October, 1926; his parents and a sister Annie around 1900; brother Thomas, February 13th, 1917; sister Myrtle, September, 1930; brother Oliver, December, 1932; brother William, February, 1952; and sister Tillie, February, 1958. The funeral service was held on Thursday, February 16th, from the Gamble Funeral Home to Shelburne Mortuary. Final resting place will be Shelburne cemetery. The pallbearers were John Howlett, James Rintoul, Alf. Porter, Ern Little, Bert Ford and John Fines. Floral tributes were from daughter and husband; grandson; Stanley Crombie and Milton Torrance; Hattie, Ed. and Violet Crombie; Muriel, Eileen and Beverley Crombie; Mr. and Mrs. John Howlett; Mrs. S. E. Courtney and family; Mrs. George Watts and Mrs. John Lee; a donation to the Bible Society by Mrs. Fred Hammond. These were carried by Dick Henderson, Ed. Armstrong, John Besley and William Halbert.
