Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31, in the St. John's Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Kinard was born April 3, 1926, in Smoaks, the son of Ernest William Kinard and Mamie Sue McAlhaney Kinard. Read More	Norman Kinard Norman Witsel Kinard, 81, of 3878 Rivers Bridge Road, Ehrhardt, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31, in the St. John's Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Kinard was born April 3, 1926, in Smoaks, the son of Ernest William Kinard and Mamie Sue McAlhaney Kinard. He retired from Savannah River Plant, now known as DuPont in 1986, after 36 years of service. He was a farmer who loved fishing and the outdoors. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Kinard was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, where he was Deacon Emeritus, former member of the Brotherhood, former Adult Sunday School Class teacher and a member of the church choir. He will be remembered for many things, but perhaps most of all as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and Christian man. He loved his Lord and his family and they loved him. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lovenia Bessinger Kinard; children, Helen Beard of Ehrhardt, Gena Grover and her husband, Paul, of Barnwell, Allen Kinard of Ehrhardt, Anne Still and her husband, Billy of Ehrhardt, Ludia Lindler and her husband, Rhyne of Ehrhardt and Cindy Murray of Ehrhardt; brothers, Will Kinard and his wife, Lucille of Hampton and Earl Kinard and his wife, Frances of Barnwell; best friend, John Winn of Ehrhardt; grandchildren, Michael and Steven Beard, Rebecca Rivas, Angie Sanford, Marcia and Holly Kinard, Norman and Allen Kinard Jr., Lori and Pam Still, Travis Martin, Jillian Murray and Peyton, Sloan, Sullivan and Caroline Lindler; great-grandchildren, Corey and Paige Beard, McKenzie Beard, Nic Rivas, Imagen and Amanda Kinard, Addie May Kinard, Chad and Christie Stanfield and Callie Woolridge; a great number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Marion Witsel Kinard; and sisters, Thelma Herndon and Mildred Follett. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. John's Baptist Church, 2509 St. John's Church Road, Ehrhardt, SC 29081.
