Description	:	Funeral services for Norris Elmer Pyle of Fleming, will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday from the Fleming United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Fleming cemetery. Mr. Pyle died Thursday, Sept. 21, 1989, at a Haxtun hospital. He was 78. He was born March 3, 1911, in Bird City, Kan., the son of George and Mary Kohler Pyle and attended school in Benkelman, Neb. He was born March 3, 1911, in Bird City, Kan., the son of George and Mary Kohler Pyle and attended school in Benkelman, Neb. When he came to Colorado he worked for Ed Uhler in Fleming, the moved to the Western Slope working for the railroad and on road construction. He married Katherine Boyd, July 2, 1938, at Salida. The couple came to Fleming area in 1948, where Mr. Pyle again worked for Ed Uhler before moving to Fleming in 1949 where he started a building construction business and continued the operation until retiring. He was a member of the Methodist Church, served on the Fleming Sewer Board for 30 years and is a retired member of the Fleming Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Pyle is survived by his wife, Katherine Pyle of Fleming; three sons, LeRoy Norris Pyle of Fleming, Dale Clifford Pyle of Craig, and Ernie Darrell Pyle of Fort Collins; a daughter, Zelma Kathleen Cantowine of Fleming; three brothers, Olen Pyle of Denver, Floyd Pyle of Bird City, Kan., and Dale Lighthill of Oak Harbor, Wash.; three sisters, Mildred Ward of Los Angeles, Calif., Eva Murry and Velta Johnson, both of Bird City, Kan.; 13 grand children, and 10 great grandchildren. Thompson Mortuary Home, Haxtun, is in charge of arrangements.
