He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Read More	North Augusta, SC Norris McDonald "Donnie" Swett, 80, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in North Augusta. Mr. Swett was born December 5, 1935, in Georgetown, a son of the late Walker Norris "Buck" Swett and the late Lena Belle "Tow" McDonald Swett. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. He did his undergraduate work at Erskine College and earned three Masters Degrees from Appalachian State University and one from the University of Miami. He was a former teacher and an assistant principle at Winyah High School in Georgetown and later was the principal at Deep Creek Elementary School in Georgetown County After retiring from the school system, Mr. Swett became an ordained United Methodist Minister and served many small churches. He was also a founding member of the Winyah Auditorium Preservation Society and member of a United Methodist Church in North Augusta. He was survived a brother, Robert Edward Swett of Tampa, Florida; two nieces; and four nephews. Private services were held in Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown, SC. At his request, he was cremated and his remains were inurned beside his parents in Elmwood Cemetery.
