Norville Henry Starkson was born August 21, 1919, the son of Sever and Andrina (Severson) Starkson in Fordville, ND. Norville Henry Starkson was born August 21, 1919, the son of Sever and Andrina (Severson) Starkson in Fordville, ND. He attended school in Fordville and later the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND. He graduated from Fordville High School in 1937. Upon the completion of his education, he worked on the family farm and the Johnson Store in Fordville. On September 5, 1942, he enlisted in the Reserve Corps School at the University of North Dakota. He entered the United States Army at Fort Leavenworth, KS as a corporal on December 5, 1942. Norville served as a radar technician in the European Theatre and the Mediterranean Theatre. He was honorably discharged from military service on February 11, 1946 at Camp McCoy, WI. He was employed as a mail carrier by the United States Postal Service in Grand Forks from 1949-1977. Norville married Edythe Geatz on June 8, 1953 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, MN. Following their marriage, they resided in East Grand Forks, MN, until Norville's retirement, when they moved to Grand Forks. He was a member of United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks. Norville was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing cards and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Edythe and several nieces and nephews. His parents, four sisters, three brothers and two infant sisters, preceded him in death.
