The history of Wayne County and Randolph County, Indiana, show both Obadiah senior and Obadiah junior moving first to Wayne County, where Benjamin lived then later to Randolph County. Page 219-Obadiah Harris, from North Carolina, father of Benjamin, came several years later than his son, and still later, Obadiah, another son. They settled in New Garden, a mile south from Newport (now Fountain City) , whence they removed to Randolph County. Both father and son were preachers in the Society of Friends. Page 291-(Settled) south of Newport (now Fountain City), Obadiah Harris, Senior, from N. C, in 1811 ; later, Obadiah Harris, son of Obadiah, Senior, settled south of his father.
