Description	:	Octavious D. Rice died at his home near Lake, Wed. morning, Dec. 5, at 5:30 A.M. after a lingering illness of seven weeks. "Captian Tavi" as he was called by his friends had been in bad health for over fourteen months. He was laid to rest at his home in the midst of his many friends and relatives. Opie Jewell of Lake, one half-brother Howard L. Warwick of Clarendon, VA. Obit taken from the Dec. 14, 1945 issue of the Northern Neck News. He was the son of Charles D. and Sarah V. Jones Rice. He married Alverta M. Chesser on May 26, 1898 She was the daughter of W. W. and Elizabeth Chesser of St. Mary's County MD and Clara J. McGuire on Feb. 5, 1906. She was the daughter of D. S. McGuire and Anne McGuire of Northumberland County VA
