The daughter of Elmer and Ellen McCall Cook, she was born in Davis County near Drakesville, Oct. 11, 1890. She was a resident of the Ottumwa area for the past 50 years. She married Carl F. Maring July 4, 1912, in Ottumwa. Madison, who died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. Rev. T.R. Crown, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, Carl F. Maring; two sons, Forrest Maring of Everett, Wash., and Oral Maring of San Antonio, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Vivian Bowling of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence Cook of Floris, Ira Cook of Batavia, and Kira Cook of Davenport; and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Elmore of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Dorothy Wagner of Ottumwa Route 2. She was preceded by one son in infancy, four sisters and one grandson. Pallbearers will be Everett Miller, Rev. Louis Watters, Robert McCall, Harold Phillips, Hursell McCall and Henry Eakins.
