After growing to manhood, he worked eight years as a stonecutter at Grand Island, Nebraska. He engaged in business in Holdrege in 1917. In February of 1919, his brother, Ben H. Palmer joined him in business, and since they have operated under the firm name of Palmer Bros. Granite Co., Inc. doing monument business on a large scale throughout southwest and central Nebraska. On Feb. 10, 1909 Mr. Palmer was married to Anna M. Tagge. To this union were born three children, Evelyn now Mrs. Bob Eldridge of here; Lawrence (Bud) who also lives here; Lenora Ann, now Mrs. Bob Hoy. On June 20, 1933, Mr. Palmer was united in marriage to C. Evelyn Dunlavy. To this union was born one daughter, Connie. Besides wife and children he leaves aged mother Mrs. J.R. Palmer, six brothers, Albert, Ben, Bert, Ralph, Alan and John; and three sisters, Mrs. Gus Nelson, Mrs. Cleve Cover, and Mrs. Less Stahlnecker and two grandchildren.
