Ola, the daughter of Noah and Ida (Scott) Nance, was born on June 15, 1923 in Dallas County. She was united in marriage with Charles Horney on November 25, 1947 in Adel. They moved to Newton in 1965. Ola was a homemaker. She was a past member of the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Ola enjoyed sewing, quilting, and her rose bushes. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. (Survivors omitted for privacy) She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles in 2011; daughter-in-law, Barbara Horney; two sisters, Pearl Wilson and Velma House; two brothers, Herschel and Leonard Nance; and a brother, Charlie, in infancy.
