Description	:	"Ole" was born Olaf Engebretson Elesfrud in Norway, the son of Engebret Elefsrud and Raynell Skadelon. His first marriage was to Mary Josephine Pederson. They divorced, but son Earl P. Elefsrud was born to the marriage. He moved to Chicago for a time, but then returned to Iowa. He later married Vella Dawson, widow of Charles J. Mueller. Sumner Gazette - Sumner, Iowa 10 January 1974 - Page 7 OLAF ELEFSRUD FREDERICKSBURG - Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. for Olaf Elefsrud, 85, who died Monday, Dec. 31, of a heart attack. It has been previously reported Mr. Elefsrud was shoveling snow, however, this was not the case; he was attempting to open the garage door preparing to going to Sumner, where they were invited to a dinner. Mr. Elefsrud was born March 10, 1888, in Norway, and came to this country at the age of 15. He worked as a farmer most of his life. On Feb.. 26, 1934, he was married to Vella Dawson Mueller, and they farmed in the Fredericksburg area until 1962 when they moved to their present home in Fredericksburg. He is survived by his wife, Vella; one son, Earl of Waterloo; three step-children, Dale Mueller of Frederika, Mrs. Harm Geneva) DeVries of Fredericks- burg, and Mrs. Jack (LaVere) Katosky of Waterloo; several grandchildren and great grand- children; and one brother in Norway. Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Gerald Armstrong officiating and burial was in Rose Hill Ceme- tery.
