Karen then married Jen's younger brother, John Johannessen on November 3, 1881 in Meråker kommune, Nord-Trøndelag fylke, Norway. John was born May 24, 1863 in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway making him only 18 when they married. Karen gave birth to a daughter, Marit Johannesen January 1882 in , Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. Marit Johannessen's parents are listed as John Johannesen and Karen Olsdatter on her birth and christening records. Jens Johannessen died December 15, 1881 in , Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. This is a little more than a month after Karen and John married and then Marit was born a month later. I am not sure who the real birth father is for Olaf or his sister Marit. I have listed them according to what their birth/christening records list. In Olaf's United States Social Security Application and Claims Index record John is listed as his father and Carrie is listed as his mother. Olaf was definitely raised as their son from the time of their marriage. My belief is that Olaf is Jens son and then his much younger brother had a relationship with and then married Karen. I find it interesting that Karen and John married a little more than a month before Jens died.
