Andersen, 77, 401 First Ave., SE, died Sunday at his home after a seven year illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's American Lutheran Church with Reverend Arnold Imbrock to Reverend Paul Tobiason officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under direction of Mauer funeral home. He was born May 12, 1893, in Denmark, a son of the late Carl and Petra (Danmond) Andersen. He was married, February 22, 1921, to Charlotte Kloster at the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oyens. They farmed in Elgin Township, until 1932 when they moved to LeMars, where he was employed by Meis Seed & Feed until his retirement in 1961. He came to the United States in 1914, later returning to Denmark until 1916. He then returned to the United States and enlisted in the Army during World War I. He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars, American Legion and and Last Man's Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers, all of Denmark. Survivors are his wife, Charlotte of LeMars; five daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Helen) Harms, Mrs. William (Florence) Grosenheider, Mrs. Willard (Estella) Herman, and Mrs. Gordon (Marlene) Criswell, all of LeMars, and Mrs. Virgil (Hazel) Johnson of Battle Creek; four sons, Russell, of Paullina, Ronald of Henderson, Nev., Robert of Topeka, Kan., and Richard of Minneapolis; 27 grandchildren; and adopted grandson, Jerry Anderson, and five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Carl Andersen in Denmark. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
