Description	:	Ole was born 19 Jan 1858 to Østen Olsen and Borghild Osmundsdatter at Tuntland gaard in the parish of Hjelmeland in Stavanger amt (changed in 1919 to Rogaland fylke). Ole immigrated to the U.S. in 1879, living initially with his older brother Austin (Østen in Norway) in Highland Township, Lincoln County, Dakota Territory. Austin was the first of the Østensen brothers to immigrate, arriving from Norway in 1866. Ole's older brother, also Ole, had also settled in Highland Township, arriving in the U.S. in 1871. Ole immigrated to the U.S. in 1879, living initially with his older brother Austin (Østen in Norway) in Highland Township, Lincoln County, Dakota Territory. Austin was the first of the Østensen brothers to immigrate, arriving from Norway in 1866. Ole's older brother, also Ole, had also settled in Highland Township, arriving in the U.S. in 1871. Brother Austin decided to take his father's surname as his own, ultimately changing Olsen to Olson. The elder Ole opted to take as his new surname the place name in Norway where they had lived--Tuntland (the choice later made by many in Norway when the government required citizens to adopt family names). When the U.S. Census was taken in June 1880, Ole was still living at his brother Austin's place, working as a farm laborer, and is listed in the records as Ole Austenson. As with the elder Ole, he too decided to use Tuntland as his surname. Ole married Kari Ellefsen on 17 Mar 1882. Kari is the daughter of Ole and Ingeborg Ellefsen. The couple had five children--Ingeborg Osemina, Oscar Olaf, Otto Herman, Inger Ramdina and Bertha Karina. Kari passed away 6 Aug 1891 reportedly after the unsuccessful birth of their six child. The widower traveled to Norway for a second wife, marrying Anne Johannesdatter from Haug on 19 Feb 1894 in Hjelmeland. Ole and Anne had seven children together--Clara, Melvin, Bernhard, Osmund, Alfred, Agnes and Ellen. Anne passed away 5 Jun 1924. Ole later married Inger Rivelan, a widow from Buxton, North Dakota, where the couple lived for a time.
