Description	:	Ole Oberg was born on April 2, 1911 in Canton, SD to Aandres and Siri (Holden) Oberg. When Ole was three years old his family moved to a farm in Adams County, ND. Ole helped his parents on their farm. He was inducted into the US Army in April of 1942. Ole served his country during WWII. He saw action in the European Theater from Normanday, France, the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Read More	Ole Oberg was born on April 2, 1911 in Canton, SD to Aandres and Siri (Holden) Oberg. When Ole was three years old his family moved to a farm in Adams County, ND. Ole helped his parents on their farm. He was inducted into the US Army in April of 1942. Ole served his country during WWII. He saw action in the European Theater from Normanday, France, the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. In October of 1946, Ole was honorably discharged and he returned home and lived on the farm until 1963. He worked on various jobs and became the caretaker of the Hettinger Cemetery until he retired at the age of 72. Ole Oberg passed away at the Hillcrest Care Center on Friday, April 27, 2007. He is survived by his nephews, Merle (Dorothy) Brattvet, Walter, Ernest and Stanley Oberg, all of Hettinger, ND, Roderick Oberg, of Bullhead City, AZ, Roger (Lani) Oberg, of Mesa, AZ and Robert Oberg, of Custer, SD; nieces, Margaret Oberg, of Billings, MT, Shirley (Stuart) Risk, of Paris CA and JoAnn Hoffman, of Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services for Ole Oberg, 96, of Hettinger, ND will be Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger. Burial with Military Honors by the Johnson-Melary American Legion Post #115 will follow at the Hettinger Cemetery.
