Description	:	Ole Rue was born at Grongedal, Vinge, Telemarken, Norway to parents Ole Rue and Sigrid Reine. His mother died and he came to America with his father, brother Olaf and sister, Aashild in 873 at the age of 11. They arrived at Farmington, Dakota County, MN on 4 Jul 1873 where two half-sisters resided. In 1881 he came with his father to Nelson County where he filed a claim and lived for two years. His mother died and he came to America with his father, brother Olaf and sister, Aashild in 873 at the age of 11. They arrived at Farmington, Dakota County, MN on 4 Jul 1873 where two half-sisters resided. In 1881 he came with his father to Nelson County where he filed a claim and lived for two years. In 1883 he came to Eddy County and filed a claim in Gates township. He built a sod house with neighbors help and then in turn he helped them build theirs. In 1884 he returned to Norway to rejoin his father who had returned earlier. He spent the next 3 years there and set out for America in 1891. On the boat he met Aase Simons Lee who was born on 19 Oct 1870 in Telemarken, Norway and was raised there. Her brother lived in Eddy County and she was joining Andrew there. Ole and Aase Lee were married on 7 Jul 1891 at Carrington, ND with Reverend Thormodsgaard officiating. The couple were the parents of 13 children. They farmed and lived in Gates township for the rest of their lives.
