Description	:	Ole was born to Tosten and Annie (Sevelrud) Brandhagen. Ole married Anna Marie Lovstuen on May 31, 1876 in Deocorah, IA. Hilmen T., Oscar Albert, Adolph Martin, Conrad L., Elmer W. and William were born to this union. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Brandhagen, came to Dakota Territory in 1874 and located on a timber claim and homestead in Grant Township, approximately four miles southeast of here. Ole married Anna Marie Lovstuen on May 31, 1876 in Deocorah, IA. Hilmen T., Oscar Albert, Adolph Martin, Conrad L., Elmer W. and William were born to this union. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. An active resident in the pioneer settlement of Grant Township, Ole T. Brandhagen, came to Dakota Territory in 1874 and located on a timber claim and homestead in Grant Township, approximately four miles southeast of here. Mr. Brandhagen was born near Christiana, Norway, in 1852, the son of Thorston and Mary Brandhagen. In 1861 the family left their native soil and immigrated to the United States and subsequently settled in Decorah, Winneshiek county, Iowa, where his father engaged in general farming. In 1874 Mr. Brandhagen (Ole T.) entered Dakota and took up his residence in this vicinity. He remained on his land here and later returned to Iowa where he was married to Miss Mary Lovestuen, and the couple established their home on his homestead claim here. Mr. Brandhagen taught school five terms in Lincoln County—two terms prior to his marriage and three terms after his wedlock. For six years, during his early residence here, he held the position as county commissioner. He likewise served as Grant township clerk a number of years and a member of the school board of his district many years. He and his family were members of the West Prairie Lutheran church. Hilman, Oscar, Adolph, Conrad, Elmer and Willie Brandhagen were the six children of this pioneer couple. Mrs. Brandhagen preceded her husband in death, passing away in October, 1920. Mr. Brandhagen died in June, 1935.
