She was born to her parents, the late Houston Gray and Ella Mae Ashford Hobbs. She was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, worked in a bakery, shirt factory and was a homemaker. Funeral Service will be held 11:AM Thursday September 27, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Leonard Herman and Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 12:PM until 8:PM and Thursday 9:AM until the time of service at 11:AM. Survivors include Daughter: Starr Ferrell (the late Larry "Horse" Ferrell) of Smithville; Grandchildren: Jarrod Dodd of Liberty, Sherranna (Bobby) Walker of Winchester; Great-Grandchildren: Hunter, Ava & Sophia Walker; Brother: John Hobbs of Liberty. Nieces: Brenda Gregory, Frances (John) Clark, Debbie (Jack) Tauber, Anita Ferrell, Robin Ferrell, Judy Pack, Sandra (Mike) Tisdale, Murriana Herman; Nephews: Doyle Hobbs, Wilburn (Janice) Hobbs, Steven Hobbs.
