Hill, 61, Azle, Texas, Shelby County native, died Thursday at Campbell Memorial Hospital, Weatherford, Texas. He had been in poor health 10 years and seriously ill since July. Hill, 61, Azle, Texas, Shelby County native, died Thursday at Campbell Memorial Hospital, Weatherford, Texas. He had been in poor health 10 years and seriously ill since July. Mr. Hill had been a farmer and a truck driver before retiring in 1972 due to poor health. He had spent most of his life in Shelby County before moving to Azle, Texas in April 1979. He attended the Nazarene Church and belonged to the Moose Lodge here and the Gathers' Auxiliary of the VFW in Rushville. Born Aug. 22, 1918, in Shelby County, a son of John and Olive (Cowin) Hill, in 1943 he married Hazel Smith who died on June 22, 1963. He then married Ginny Bartlett Feb. 2, 1974, and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Janet Lou Daugherty of Massachusetts, Mrs. Judy K. Smith, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Connie Lynn Talkington, Shelbyville; four step-daughters, Miss Diana Joan Bartlett, Azle, Texas, Mrs. Thea Lynn Salyers, Shelbyville, Mrs. Cindy Sue Kincade, Manilla, and Mrs. Virginia Jessup, North Vernon; two sons, Henry Alonzo Hill, Shelby County, and Olen Wayne Hill, Indianapolis. Other survivors include five stepsons, James Russell Bartlett Jr., Rushville, Thomas William and Myron DuWayne Bartlett, both of Azle, Texas. Richard Dale Bartlett. Gary and Fred Badgley, Anderson, six sisters, Mrs. Juanita Thomas, Morristown, Mrs. Jackie Kelly, Perry, Fla., Mrs. Lois Johnson and Mrs. Joy Weddle, Shelbyville, Mrs. Carolyn Spiker, Weatherford, Texas, and Mrs. Joyce Nickle, Indianapolis; four brothers, E.F. Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles Hill of Texas, and Paul and Jack Hill, both of Shelbyville, and 26 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Murphy Mortuary with the Rev. Kenneth Jewell officiating. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4 p.m. today and Saturday.
