Olga Mary Carlson was born on August 12, 1916 on a farm near Beresford, South Dakota, the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Libekken) Carlson. She grew up in the Menno, SD area where she attended school. Olga Mary Carlson was born on August 12, 1916 on a farm near Beresford, South Dakota, the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Libekken) Carlson. She grew up in the Menno, SD area where she attended school. On February 9, 1960 she was united in marriage to Sam Buse at Luverne, MN. They lived in Lennox their entire married life. Her husband, Sam, died June 14, 1964. Olga was a nurse's aide at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center for 17 years. She retired on May 1, 1982 and continued to live in Lennox. Olga was a member of First English Lutheran Church and was active in WELCA. She also had been a member of the Women's Relief Corp. and Lennox American Legion Auxiliary. She crocheted afghans for Project Linus and many of her grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers: Alvin Carlson, Martin Carlson and Christ Carlson; one stepdaughter, Gladys Kulbiek; step-grandchildren: Frank Kulbiek and Susan Kulbiek-Szyjko and great-grandson, Erik Engle. She is survived by one daughter, Janice (Alfred) Engle, Detroit Lakes, MN; one step-daughter, Doris Hyronimus, Lennox; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandsons; one sister, Carrie Priebe, WA plus her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 at First English Lutheran Church, Lennox with burial to follow at Turner County First Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Davis.
