Born in Big Tancook Island, she was the former Olive Blanche Young, a daughter of the late Freeman and Annie (Baker) Young. She was a member of Tancook United Baptist Church and a Dominion life member of the Women's Missionary Society. Surviving are three daughters, Bernice (Mrs. Charles Black), Middleton; Mrs. Sue Richards, Dartmouth, and Edna (Mrs. Lawrence Landry), Purcell's Cove; two sons, Arthur, Big Tancook Island, and Richard, Halifax; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Howard. She was the last surviving member of her family. The body is in Warren T. Roop's Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Big Tancook United Baptist Church, Pastor Roland Corkum officiating, with burial in Big Tancook Island Cemetery. A special ferry will leave Chester at 12 p.m. to go to Big Tancook Island.
