She was born March 9, 1906, in Wayland, Iowa, to Amos and Luvina (Gerig) Wyse. She was preceded in death by one brother, Maynard Wyse. Ms. Wyse was a professor of home economics at Goshen College from 1926 until her retirement in 1976. She received a bachelor's of arts degree in home economics and English from Goshen College in 1926; a master of science degree in nutrition from the State University of Iowa in 1933; and a doctor of education degree in home economics education from Columbia University in 1946. At Goshen College, she was instrumental in establishing a wide range of courses open to all students, regardless of major. She was a member of College Mennonite Church where she helped teach the preschool Sunday school class for 30 years. She was also a lifetime member of the former American Home Economics Association, now called the Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Memorials may be given to Goshen College.
