Read More	Olive "Ione" Holland, 89, of McCallsburg, Iowa, died on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Story Medical Senior Care in Nevada, Iowa. Ione was born in Radcliffe, Iowa, on August 24, 1931, the daughter of Oscar and Inga (Sampson) Jacobson. The family relocated to McCallsburg when they bought a farm during the great depression. All of the kids pitched in and worked the farm to help. She attended McCallsburg High School and graduated with the Class of 1948. Following school, she married Luther "Lue" Holland on July 17, 1949, in Roland, Iowa. The couple lived in McCallsburg. Over the years she worked at Holland Grocery, Lue's Garage where she was the bookkeeper for over 45 years, Donnelly's Marketing, cleaned house, and cleaned Bethany Luther Church. At age 47 Ione attended DMACC and earned her LPN. She then worked for Story City Hospital, from where she retired. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and assisted with Vacation Bible School for many years. Ione loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, cook, travel with Norway being the highlight, fishing in Canada with Jim and Marlene, camping, Church functions, visiting the Iowa State Fair, and picnics at Litte Wall Lake. Surviving are her children Ricki (Gary) Meimann, Lou Ann (Rob) Williams, and Mary Jo, and Jim (Jan) Holland; grandchildren, Carrie, Jenny, Jami, Jeremy, Jim, John, Ellie, Sam, and Cori; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and cousin Arlene Matchie. Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lue; brothers Juel (Kittey) Jacobson, James Jacobson, and John (Lucy) Jacobson. Source: Fredregill Funeral
