She lived over 50 years in the Dublin community in Wayne Co., Indiana. She was a homemaker and loved to bake, cook and be with her family. June worked at the Coffee Pot restaurant and provided home health care. She was an active member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Dublin. June was married to Morris D. Godwin on October 31, 1942 in Henry County. He was a supervisor in a rubber factory, born on October 9, 1913 in DuBois Co., Indiana, son of George Godwin and Jessie Harris. Morris and June were divorced after which June was married on August 10, 1957 to Francis Lafe Custer. Francis was a machinist, born on October 15, 1919 in Dublin, Indiana, son of Raymond Ellsworth Custer and Amanda Jane Lawrence. He died on 14 July 1965 in New Castle and was buried in South Lawn Cemetery. June was then married on July 5, 1968 in Cambridge, Indiana, to William Ernest Hofert. He was a carpenter and WWII veteran, born on February 9, 1917 in Michigan. He died on May 7, 1997 and was buried in Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. June died on Sunday, April 10, 2011, aged 84 years. Survivors included 6 children: John Godwin of Eclectic, Alabama; Linda Davis of Richmond, Indiana; Nancy Haler of Dublin, Indiana; Sierra Godwin of Cambridge City, Indiana; Greg Custer of Dublin, Indiana; and Pam Chaney of Dublin, Indiana. There were also 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Glen Hunt of Cambridge City, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and a great grandchild. Following funeral services on Thursday, April 24, 2011, she was laid to rest in South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
