Description	:	Wenatchee - Olive Kate Cordell, a resident of Sunnyslope and Wenatchee for more than 70 years, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 7, 1996, in Parkside Rehab and Care Center. She was born Sept. 9, 1903 to William and Margaret (Raynard) Tench in Port Dalhousie, Ontario, Canada, where she began her early education. She later moved with her parents to Stetler, Alberta, Canada, where she finished high school. She moved to Calgary, Alberta, and spent some time in Peace River. Read More	Wenatchee - Olive Kate Cordell, a resident of Sunnyslope and Wenatchee for more than 70 years, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 7, 1996, in Parkside Rehab and Care Center. She was born Sept. 9, 1903 to William and Margaret (Raynard) Tench in Port Dalhousie, Ontario, Canada, where she began her early education. She later moved with her parents to Stetler, Alberta, Canada, where she finished high school. She moved to Calgary, Alberta, and spent some time in Peace River. In the early 1920s, she moved to Wenatchee and became a U.S. citizen. On May 5, 1934, she married Thomas F. Cordell in Cashmere, and they purchased a farm in Moses Lake. A short time later, they moved to the Sunnyslope area where they purchased two orchards. In 1957, they moved to Wenatchee. She was employed by Wenoka Fruit Warehouse for 46 years as a sorter, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Cordell was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Wenatchee. Survivors include two sons, John Cordell of Entiat and Ray Cordell of East Wenatchee; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Jim and Ed Gordon of Terrace, B. C. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, one sister, one brother and two nieces. Jones and Jones Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
