Description	:	From The Nelson Gazette, November 29, 1894, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mrs. Olive Maria Brooks, (nee Bidwell,) was born July 28, 1842 in Madison County, Ohio, and died near Angus, Nebraska, November 22, '94. In 1866 the deceased was married to D. D. Brooks, with whom she moved to Missouri, where they lived until 1872, when they removed to Nuckolls County, Nebraska, where they resided until she peacefully passed away. Read More	From The Nelson Gazette, November 29, 1894, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mrs. Olive Maria Brooks, (nee Bidwell,) was born July 28, 1842 in Madison County, Ohio, and died near Angus, Nebraska, November 22, '94. In 1866 the deceased was married to D. D. Brooks, with whom she moved to Missouri, where they lived until 1872, when they removed to Nuckolls County, Nebraska, where they resided until she peacefully passed away. In 1880 Mrs. Brooks gave her heart to Christ in whom her entire life was wrapped until her end. After her conversion she united with the Evangelical Association of which she was a faithful member. Her ceaseless energy in the Master's cause, especially in the Sabbath School, was beautifully exhibited in the work that she did, corresponding well with her motto, "Let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." The deceased was a kind sister, a loving wife and a patient sufferer, being afflicted with cancer for some time before her death. The immediate cause of her death was dropsy. Funeral services were held at Angus and conducted by Rev. Lance, assisted by Revs. Fuller and Geil of the U.B. church, after which the remains were followed to the Edgar Cemetery by a sorrowful husband and sister and a large concourse of sympathising friends.
