Description	:	Mrs. Olive Oda Peterson, wife of Christ Peterson, and one of Brady's pioneer mothers, was born at Marshalltown, Iowa March 6, 1880, and died June 18, 1954, at Gothenburg, at the age of 74. Mrs. Peterson had been in ill health for several months from a heart ailment. She came with her parents to the Brady community in 1888. On April 18, 1901, at Spannuth, she was united in marriage to Christ Peterson. They lived and farmed north of Brady until 1922, when they moved to town where they have made their home since. Read More	Mrs. Olive Oda Peterson, wife of Christ Peterson, and one of Brady's pioneer mothers, was born at Marshalltown, Iowa March 6, 1880, and died June 18, 1954, at Gothenburg, at the age of 74. Mrs. Peterson had been in ill health for several months from a heart ailment. She came with her parents to the Brady community in 1888. On April 18, 1901, at Spannuth, she was united in marriage to Christ Peterson. They lived and farmed north of Brady until 1922, when they moved to town where they have made their home since. She was a member of the Methodist Church, War Mothers, and American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include: her husband, Christ; daughters, Mrs. Melvin Johnson, of Moorefield, Mrs. Claude McCaig, Mrs. Oliver Johnson, and Mrs. Willard Diehl, all of Brady, Mrs. Fred Fraley of Hastings; sons, Herman, Arthur, and Christian, of Brady; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Smith, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Miss Effie Ritenour of San Pedro, Calif., and two brothers Carl Ritenour of North Platte, and Earl Ritenour of Guernsey, Wyo. Funeral services were held June 21, 1954, at the Brady Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles A. Moorer officiated. Mrs. Rauley Camblin and Mrs. William Gengenbach sang "In the Garden" and "We are Going Down the Valley", with Mrs. Chester Smith, as accompanist. Pallbears were grandsons, Alvin Johnson, Wayne Johnson, William Diehl, Kenneth Diehl, Richard Peterson, and Donald Peterson. Burial was in the Antelope Cemetery, north of Brady. Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
