Description	:	Mrs. Oliven Gagnon Dies at 83 A longtime resident of Porterville, Mrs. Oliven Gagnon, 83, died Tuesday at Sierra View District hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Gagnon was born in Clyde, Kans., and in 1902 moved with her parents to Visalia where she and the late Arthur Gagnon were married in 1908. They came to Porterville to establish a home in 1920. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Royal Neighbors of America. Read More	Mrs. Oliven Gagnon Dies at 83 A longtime resident of Porterville, Mrs. Oliven Gagnon, 83, died Tuesday at Sierra View District hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Gagnon was born in Clyde, Kans., and in 1902 moved with her parents to Visalia where she and the late Arthur Gagnon were married in 1908. They came to Porterville to establish a home in 1920. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include two sons, Alfred of Strathmore and Emil Gagnon of Cayucos, two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Simonich of Lindsay and Mrs. Catherine Emlet of Kingsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Boudreau and Mrs. Rose Lavoy, both of Visalia; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday May 24, in the Loyd Chapel. Requiem Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Anne’s Catholic church with Father Joseph Halker, longtime pastor here as the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery. The family prefers that remembrances be in the for of contributions to the St. Anne’s Church Memorial Fund.
