Oliver Benjamin Penrod, well and favorably known native born Pike County citizen, resident of Bolwing Green, departed this life late Monday evening, March 2nd, after an illness of short duration, at the age of 69 years, two months and 16 days. He died at Pike County Hospital. Oliver Benjamin Penrod, well and favorably known native born Pike County citizen, resident of Bolwing Green, departed this life late Monday evening, March 2nd, after an illness of short duration, at the age of 69 years, two months and 16 days. He died at Pike County Hospital. Mr. Penrod was born on a farm near Frankford, December 14, 1883, a son of Albert and Rosetta Hubert Penrod, and grew to young manhood and attended rural schools in the vicinity of his birth. With the exception of a short time he resided in Kansas City, he spent his entire life in the County where he was born. He retired from farm work in 1946 and moved to this city, where he had since made his home, and did carpenter work. In 1913 he was unitied in marrieage to Miss Mary A Garvey of the Mt. Pisgah neighborhood, She preceded him in death in 1932. To that union one child, a daughter, Mary Helen, now Mrs. Chester Benoist of St. Louis, was born. Mrs. Benoist is the mother of three daughters, Mary Alice, Patricia Ann and Barbara Jean, of St. Louis. On August 23, 1950 Mr. Penrod and Mrs. Reva Ingalls of this city, were united in marriage at Hannibal. She survives to morrn the passing of her loved one, remains were in state at Bankhead's Chappel where services were held Friday afternoon, March sixth, interred in Bowling Green Cemetery.
