Oliver Crockett Brown is the s/o Ebenezer Brown & Cornelia Crockett of North Haven, Me. He was b 4 Mar 1840, Adams, Ohio; d 12 Dec 1908, Cornville.He married Lucy Jane Wooster on 3 Feb 1861, North Haven. She was b 9 Mar 1841, North Haven, the d/o Levi Wooster & Sabra Young. She d 6 Mar 1917, North Haven. Oliver & Lucy had 2 children, born North Haven: 1) Fred W Brown: 24 Apr 1862 - 5 Apr 1939, Camden; 2) Jennie Marion Brown: 23 June 1863, North Haven - 21 Aug 1942, Camden. Oliver & Lucy were members of the North Haven Baptist Church, and he worked as a seaman. *** He served during the Civil War, enlisting on 2 Sept 1864 in the Union Navy as a Landsman. He served aboard the "Sabine" (training ship), "Ohio," "Sea Foam" and "Ohio." (Much of his time in the service / ships coincided with other North Haven-er's_. He was discharged on 2 June 1865. He suffered from kidney troubles & rheumatism due to his service. Death Record: Oliver C Brown died on 12 Dec 1908 in Cornville, Me at the age of 68 years 9 months 8 days. Born in Tiffin, Ohio, he was the son of Eben Brown (born Rockland, farmer) and Cornelia Crockett (born Rockland). He was a married farmer. Thank you for your service! Read less
