Description	:	The son of Daniel & Martha E. (Ruff) Plank, in 1860 he was a farmer living in Hamiltonban Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania. He stood 5' 7" tall and had black hair and brown eyes. A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Gettysburg August 7, 1862, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 16 as a private with Co. B, 138th Pennsylvania Infantry. Hospitalized for illness at Annapolis, Maryland, August 3, 1864, he returned to duty September 21, then detached to duty as mounted orderly at brigade headquarters. (b. @1872), Philip Roy (b. 09/30/74), and Martha Martha (b. 12/12/83). In 1880, he lived in Eyota, Omsted County, Minnesota, but later resided in Elkton, South Dakota, where Jennie lived in 1890.
