Description	:	Oliver Freeman is believed to have been born in Frankfort, Maine on May 29, 1804, and was the son of Samuel and Sarah MITCHELL Freeman. His NH death record lists his year of birth as 1804, but his gravestone lists his year of birth as 1805. The error is believed to be on the gravestone. Read More	Oliver Freeman is believed to have been born in Frankfort, Maine on May 29, 1804, and was the son of Samuel and Sarah MITCHELL Freeman. His NH death record lists his year of birth as 1804, but his gravestone lists his year of birth as 1805. The error is believed to be on the gravestone. I should also note that because Oliver was born on May 29, 1804, while Maine was still legally an integral part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, he was technically born in Massachusetts. Maine became the twenty-third state in the USA on March 15, 1820. The movement to separate Maine from Massachusetts began at least as early as 1785 and gained momentum as a result of the War of 1812. Oliver, whose occupation was a painter, was married 3 times, and had four children with his first (?) wife, Elmira G DORMAN Freeman. The children were Lucy M, Mary Olivia, Sarah J, and Daniel O. Oliver married his third wife, Mary J BELL, on October 22, 1883 in Malden, Massachusetts at the age of 79. Oliver's NH death record shows his date of death as December 19, 1895, having lived 91 years, 6 months, and 19 days. On October 8, 1917, Oliver's body was moved from the Adams Cemetery in Alton, NH to the Old Riverside Cemetery in Alton, NH.
