Description	:	Son of Vernon & Nina (Klopenstein) Rayburn. Attended District 25 rural school through eighth grade, then attended Gibbon Public School. Was employed locally by Colonel Rogers, John Ross and Ivan Miller; then worked in aircraft construction in Buffalo, N.Y. Military: U.S. Navy, 1942-1946; was stationed in San Diego, Hawaii, the New Hebrides and Corpus Christi, was honorably discharged with the rank of AEM2. Returned to Gibbon. Married: May 4, 1947 to Dorothy Miller at the home of Ivan and Ethel Miller in Gibbon; she preceded him in death. Survivors include his sons, Tom and his wife, Billy, of Kearney and Dan and his wife, Shari, of Juniata; daughters, Vicki Vohland and her husband, Rich, of Kearney, Lee Ann Lux and her husband, Al, of Minden and Julie Murrish and her husband, Jeff, of North Platte; sister, Ada Belle Smith of Kearney; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother, Dale.
