Oliver "Kent" Olson, of Boulder, went to be with our Lord, on Tuesday February 8th, 2022. A memorial graveside service will be planned and announced later in the Spring. Oliver was a lifelong member of the VFW in Lengby Mn and a member of the American legion. Oliver was known as Kent or Uncle Kent to friends and family. He was born on the farm, between Bagley and Fosston, Minnesota, to Oliver Leonard Olson and Minda Bjore Olson. Oliver also went to grade school there and got his Highschool GED. Oliver "Kent" Olson, of Boulder, went to be with our Lord, on Tuesday February 8th, 2022. A memorial graveside service will be planned and announced later in the Spring. Oliver was a lifelong member of the VFW in Lengby Mn and a member of the American legion. Oliver was known as Kent or Uncle Kent to friends and family. He was born on the farm, between Bagley and Fosston, Minnesota, to Oliver Leonard Olson and Minda Bjore Olson. Oliver also went to grade school there and got his Highschool GED. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was Honorably discharged in November of 1954. Oliver then went to drafting school on the GI Bill and began working as a Superintendent building grain elevators first for "Jacobson & Sons Construction." Then self-employed elevator repair "Olson and Sons." Then after retiring, he worked with Brother-in-law, Gary Moran. Oliver traveled throughout the Montana Highline to Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, and Dakotas, as well as Canada, building many grain elevators along the way. Oliver met Leona "Una" Moran Ward in Kremlin Montana, and married May 9th, 1958. Together, they loved and raised five girls, and two boys in Brady, Conrad area, all of whom Oliver made sure took Hunters Safety course. Oliver and Leona were then divorced for several years. Oliver then went back to the farm, and raised Belgium horses for a time, then moved to Boulder, where he and Leona remarried there on February 1st, 2012, and built a cabin. Oliver loved to ice fish, spear fish and hunt Big Game from Montana to North Dakota to Minnesota. Also in his younger days, he enjoyed trap shooting, skiing, and scuba diving and golf and bowling. He also very much loved dancing and taught his girls to Waltz and Jitterbug. Proceeding Oliver in death, is his wife Leona. His Mother Minda and Father Oliver Leonard Olson. Brothers, James Olson of Havre & Orin Olson, sister Theada of Bagley/Fosston. A daughter Susie and Granddaughter Mari. Surviving family are, his sister Mildred Myers of Richmond, California, and a brother Alvin "Phil," Olson of Columbia Falls. Also his daughters, Karen, April, Linda, and Wanda, and sons Steve and Gary"Charlie." Also numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews. As well as Brother-in-law, Gary Moran of Trenton, North Dakota. |
