Description	:	A native of Worth county, Iowa, Oliver O. Sorbo was born Sept. 20, 1892, to the late Mina Mikkelsen-Nielsdatter Grefsheim and Ole O. Sorbo. He attended Worth county schools and grew up northeast of Lake Mills, Iowa. He farmed in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, retiring four years ago when he moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota. He was a life-time member of Silver Lake Lutheran church and the Lutheran Brotherhood. He had also served on the Worth county school board. Sorbo was born Sept. 20, 1892, to the late Mina Mikkelsen-Nielsdatter Grefsheim and Ole O. Sorbo. He attended Worth county schools and grew up northeast of Lake Mills, Iowa. He farmed in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, retiring four years ago when he moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota. He was a life-time member of Silver Lake Lutheran church and the Lutheran Brotherhood. He had also served on the Worth county school board. On Nov. 15, 1913, he married Marie Flaten; the couple raised four children. They were planning their 50th wedding anniversary celebration when Oliver, 70, passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 1963 at the Naeve hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks with a heart condition; a mere three months shy of their celebratory event. Survivors include his wife Marie, a son, Orien, Albert Lea and three daughters, Mrs Orlen (Mildred) Oakland, Glenville; Mrs. Lawrence (Thornie) Runden and Mrs. Reuben (Carol) Gavle, both of Albert Lea; five brothers, Nels, Clarence, Reuben, Walter, and Gilman; and four sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Nettie) Brandt, Mrs. W.J. (Alma) Ofstaas, Mrs. Jimmie (Mabel) Larson, and Mrs. Henry (Sophie) Clement. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1963 at 1:30 p.m., at the Silver Lake Lutheran church with The Rev. Carl E. Oslund of the Salem Lutheran church of Albert Lea officiating; burial was in the church cemetery. Blessed be his memory Published in the Albert Lea Tribune
