Description	:	GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. - Oliver Springer Jones, 75, died June 23, 2006, in Green Valley, AZ. He was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Wheatland, Wyo., the son of Vera L Springer and Oliver Lewis Jones. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1948. He attended college one year at Colorado A & M in Fort Collins, Colo. before transferring to the University of Nebraska graduating in 1953 with a degree in Business Administration. Read More	GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. - Oliver Springer Jones, 75, died June 23, 2006, in Green Valley, AZ. He was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Wheatland, Wyo., the son of Vera L Springer and Oliver Lewis Jones. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1948. He attended college one year at Colorado A & M in Fort Collins, Colo. before transferring to the University of Nebraska graduating in 1953 with a degree in Business Administration. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. In the Air Force, received his training at Hondo Air Force Base, Class of 54N from July 1953 to January 1954, and at Bryan Air Force Base in College Station, Texas, from January 1954 until August 1954. He was transferred to Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, Calif., flying B-25's and T 29's. He served until September 1956 returning to Mitchell where he joined the Wyoming National Guard in Cheyenne. He flew F-80 and F-86 aircraft. He was married to Donna Rea in Las Vegas Sept. 17, 1956. To this union three children were born, Lon Springer Jones, Holly Nixon Jones and, Randall Monroe Jones After his father's death in 1957 he managed the family's property in Mitchell Valley as well as the ranch in the Wildcat Hills until 1980 when they moved to a ranch in Wheatland, Wyo. In 1992 they moved to Cody, Wyo. retiring in San Carlos, Mexico in 2002. Due to ill health they moved to Green Valley, Ariz. in 2004. He was a member and Past Patron of Sunflower Chapter #2l4, OES, 50-year member of the Mitchell Masonic Lodge, Sigma Nu Fraternity, AOPA, Quite Birdmen, Life member of NRA, and a Life member of the Soaring Society of America, where he was a Triple Diamond pilot. His interests included flying, trap shooting, hunting big game and birds, deep sea fishing and a big Cornhusker fan. Preceding him in death were his parents, sister, Betty Jeane Snell, and son, Randall Monroe Jones in 1993. Burial at the Mitchell Valley Cemetery.
