Description	:	Daughter of Henry and Sophia Stark Ropers. Olivia attended District 3 School and graduated the 8th grade. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She helped on the family farm and helped care for her 6 younger siblings. Olivia moved to Omaha and was employed as a housekeeper for several families. On September 25, 1941 she married Elvin E. Pierce at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple lived in several Iowa towns while Elvin worked for a logging company. The family moved to West Point in 1945. The couple lived in several Iowa towns while Elvin worked for a logging company. The family moved to West Point in 1945. Olivia worked as clerk at Hested's Dime Store and Ben Franklin store for nearly 20 years. In 1999 she moved to St. Joseph's Retirement Community and in February, 2007 to Colonial Haven in Beemer. Olivia enjoyed hosting garage sales at Pierce's Garage and attending garage sales. Her other hobbies included collecting photos and information on genealogy, square dancing, vegetable and flower gardening, quilting, and card playing, especially Pitch and Pinochle. Olivia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Isaak Walton League Auxiliary, and was a Red Cross volunteer for St. Francis Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She especially enjoyed family reunions and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include daughters Janice (Butch) Kindschuh of West Point, and Evelyn (Joe) Dunn of Ogallala, sons Kenneth (Judy) Pierce of Hermiston, OR, and Arlyn (Merna) Pierce of West Point, sisters Dorothy Kuester of West Point and Katherine Thies of Omaha, brother Waline Ropers of Holmesville, brother-in-law Arnold Daberkow of West Point, grandchildren, Wyatt Pierce, Russell (Michelle) Pierce, Steven (Tonja) Kindschuh, Sharon Kindschuh, Jeff (Amy) Jensen, Jayne Schlem, Aaron Pierce, Angela (Chris) Kuester and Brian (Becky) Pierce, and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elvin, in 1972, infant son Daryl, and son-in-law Mike Jensen, sisters Mildred Daberkow, Delilah Ott, and Caroline Horst and special friend Arnold Ott.
