Description	:	The funeral service for Olivia E. Weikum, age 95 of Elgin, will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin. Pastor Brian Knutson will officiate with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Elgin ND. Olivia Elizabeth Schock was born to Fred and Katherine (Heupel) Schock on June 14, 1919. Olivia was born and raised on the Schock farm 12 miles northwest of Elgin and attended the "Will" Country School. She had 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Her mother passed away when Olivia was age 17. She worked on the farm alongside her father and two brothers, August and Ruben. Olivia was united in marriage to Arthur Weikum on December 4, 1938 in the Stone (Hope) Church north of Elgin. They purchased the Ben Sprecher farm where the stone house in which they lived contained the photo studio and the post office when Leipzig was a town in the area. Olivia and Art raised their family on this farm and lived in the stone house until April 1958, when they moved into the new house the family built north of the stone house. Art and Olivia purchased the land that the Stone Church was on and donated it to the Historical Society. Olivia and Art moved into Elgin in November of 1976. She worked for the Green Thumb program working in the Community Center and Elgin Museum for a number of years. On June 18, 2007, she and Art moved into Dakota Hills. Art passed away on October 7, 2007. Olivia lived in Dakota Hills until moving to the Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center in August of 2009. She passed from this life there on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. She and Art were married for over 68 years. Olivia was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and was on the Women's Board, active in the quilting group, and taught both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She always raised a big, beautiful vegetable and flower garden and generously shared everything she raised. She has made afghans and quilts for each of her children and grandchildren along with many other crocheted and embroidered gifts. Olivia passed from this life on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center in Elgin. Surviving family members include her 4 children, LeRoy (Ramona) Weikum, Elgin, ND; Norma Lippert, Gillette, WY; Wayne "Bud" (Karen) Weikum, Mandan, ND; Corrine (Mike) Mlnarik, Gwinner, ND; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Selma Schock and Lorraine Weikum, both of Elgin, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law, Adolph Lippert, 6 brothers, John, Fred, Leo, Arthur, Ruben, and August Schock, and 3 sisters, Maggie Wolf, Lydia Delzer, and Helen Weikum. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 to 7:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin. Obit from Ellen Bishop FAG #46998865
