Description	:	OMAR HENDERSON DUNLAP PASSED AWAY JANUARY 13 Omar Henderson Dunlap, the son of John and Nancy Dunlap, was born at Galena, Illinois, September 8, 1860, and passed away at a hospital in New Hampton January 13th. Read More	OMAR HENDERSON DUNLAP PASSED AWAY JANUARY 13 Omar Henderson Dunlap, the son of John and Nancy Dunlap, was born at Galena, Illinois, September 8, 1860, and passed away at a hospital in New Hampton January 13th. He would have been 90 years old his next birthday. When a small boy, he came with his parents to Iowa and they lived at Riceville, Spirit Lake and Near Ionia. When a young man, he went to South Dakota, and was married there to Sarah Mary Oeder on November 21, 1887, in Spink County. They farmed in that vicinity until 1890, when they came to Milford, Iowa Shortly after they moved to Nashua, and later to the Republic Community, where he spent the rest of his life. Early in life he became a member of the Baptist Church. There were three children, Edith, Pearl and Lee. His daughter, Edith (Mrs. J. J. Stephens) preceded him in death in 1927, and his wife, August 3, 1936. Since that time he and his daughter Pearl have lived on the home place. For about 10 years he has been confined to his wheel chair and Pearl has faithfully cared for hi. Four brothers and one grandson have also preceded him in death. He is survived by a daughter, Pearl, at home, and his son, Lee, of Dearborn, Michigan; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Sweet of Eureka, Montana, and Mrs. Jessie Mowatt of Backus, Minnesota; one brother, Milton Dunlap of Charles City, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services for Mr. Dunlap were held at the Republic Community Church Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. E. C. Allen officiating. Mrs. Will Pierce was accompanist for Roger Peterson, who sang. Mrs. Beryl Parker, Sr. and Mrs. John Connor were in charge of the flowers. Pallbearers were Clarence Hanson, Sr., Mell Harna, Will Pierce, Cecil Laydon, Lee Strike and Bert Feuchtwanger. Burial was in Richland Cemetery.
