Description	:	Page News & Courier, 6 Jan 1931 Omer Taylor, aged 24, and unmarried, son of the late Charles Taylor of near Stanley, was crushed to death about three o'clock, Saturday evening when he was thrown off the local freight at Donovan's crossing on the N. & W., a mile South of Stanley. Read More	Page News & Courier, 6 Jan 1931 Omer Taylor, aged 24, and unmarried, son of the late Charles Taylor of near Stanley, was crushed to death about three o'clock, Saturday evening when he was thrown off the local freight at Donovan's crossing on the N. & W., a mile South of Stanley. The accident was seen indistinctly by Mr. Friedell, a railroad official on the train, and also, by two persons who live near Donovan's crossing. Young Taylor, in the presence of some companions climbed on the train at Luray to get a ride to Stanley near which place he has usually resided with his aunt, Miss Mamie Taylor. He was seen on the freight as it ran through Stanley without making a stop. Obsequies being held by Rev. H.J. Dudley in Luray Church of Christ at 3 p.m., on Monday, with interment in Evergreen cemetery. Young Taylor was employed at a saw mill at Bowden, W.Va., the home of his brother, Andrew Taylor, the latter half of last year coming to this county at the beginning of the holidays and spending the time until his death visiting relatives at Luray and Stanley. He was a grandson of Eld. Thornton Taylor, deceased of near Stanley, He was one of the fourteen children of Charles Taylor, deceased, his surviving brothers and sisters being, Mrs. Elmer Strickler, of Luray, Mrs. Charles Linebaugh, of Hagerstown, Md., Mrs. Freeman Gray and Miss Mamie Taylor of Pine Grove this county, Frank Taylor and Mrs. Fred Seal, of Mauck, this county, Mrs. L.B. Berry, Mrs. Lee Menefee and Mrs. Walter Broyles, of Luray, Andrew Taylor, of Bowden, W.Va., and C.H. Taylor, of Baltimore.
