Description	:	Omer Lloyd Slauter 89, 500 South Main St., died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in a Minot health care center. He was born Aug. 23, 1909 to Myrtle and Harry Slauter in Berthold, where he was raised and educated. He married Jacqueline Melius Sept. 28, 1932, in Stanley. They lived in the Minot area most of their life. He served with the 275th Combat Engineering Battalion during World ll, from 1943 to 1945, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Read More	Omer Lloyd Slauter 89, 500 South Main St., died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in a Minot health care center. He was born Aug. 23, 1909 to Myrtle and Harry Slauter in Berthold, where he was raised and educated. He married Jacqueline Melius Sept. 28, 1932, in Stanley. They lived in the Minot area most of their life. He served with the 275th Combat Engineering Battalion during World ll, from 1943 to 1945, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a longtime employee of the City of Minot, serving as Superintendent of the water treatment plant and of the street department. He also worked for many years for Minot Public Schools until retiring in 1974. He and his wife owned and operated Jackie's Restaurant in Minot from 1963 to 1974. His wife died Nov. 30, 1993. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Minot and was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars. Survivors: son, Paul, Minot; daughters, Susan Cacloppo, Fargo, Diane Anderson, Minot; eight grandchildren: three greatgrandchildren; brother. Harold, Minot: sisters. Edna Hennessy, Minneapolis, Esther Geyer, Auburn. Wash. Funeral: Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. in Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot. Burial: At 2 p.m. Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold.
