Ona was born on May 14, 1932 to Henry and Effa (Gregory) Mittelberg, on the family farm at Cook, Nebraska. Ona was born on the same farm where her father and brother were both born. Ona met her husband Richard Alm on a blind date to a wrestling match. They were married on August 25th, 1956. Together the two had two sons Dave (Linda) and Jim (Brenda Novotny). Ona truly loved her family, loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her humor, her love for people and always, always had a smile on her face, and her arms opened wide for hugs and kisses. Ona is survived by: her two sons; eight grandchildren, Holly Alm, Ashley Bphonsavat (Bobby), Sarah and Spencer, Tara (Coby) Houston, Zachary (Rachel), Justin Novotny; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Orland and Jinny Mittelberg, Martie and Jim Siebken, Kathy and Rance Tallent; sister-in-law, Betty Alm; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Richard; and sister, Jeanette Loos. Memorial service on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Tabitha Chapel, in Lincoln, followed by private family interment in Holland Cemetery.
