Description	:	On February 21, 1915 at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burgoon, near Paton, a dear little daughter, the second one in the family, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Burgoon. Read More	On February 21, 1915 at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burgoon, near Paton, a dear little daughter, the second one in the family, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Burgoon. When she was six years old, the family moved to Kennedy, Minnesota, where they lived four years, returning to Iowa in 1925 and locating on a farm near Dana. There at the age of 12 years Ona was converted and united with the M. E. Church at Dana, transferring her membership to the church in Paton when her parents moved back to that vicinity. She was always a faithful and regular attendant in the Sunday school, church, and Epworth League services until a severe illness halted her activities, and for months, her life was despaired of, but through it all she was patient and uncomplaining, never thrusting her ailments upon others. Medical treatment finally prevailed, and she was able to finish her high school course last spring, graduating with the class of 1933 at Paton. Since that time she had seemed so much stronger that her sudden passing came as a great shock, not only to her family, but the whole community who knew her and loved her. She was prominent in the girls' 4-H club, giving of her time and talents to that great work. The close of her earthly life came peacefully Thursday morning, Dec. 14, in her parents' home near Boxholm. A sweeter and purer soul never returned to its Maker. Those who knew her most intimately could think of her only as an angel, and her life, full of thoughtful words and unselfish deeds with no criticism of anyone, will ever be an inspiration to all who knew her. The last work she did was to help the Sunday school class serve a supper on the evening before Thanksgiving at the church in Boxholm. Besides her parents, she is survived by her devoted sister, Ila, with whom she has been inseparable all her life; her brother, Kenneth; her grandmother, Mrs. Harry Burgoon; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; besides countless friends in Paton and vicinity to whom sympathy is extended at this time, but who mourn, not as those who have no hope, knowing her confidence in Him who said, "I go to prepare a place for you that where I am, you may be also." Short services were conducted at the home at 1:30 and funeral services at the M. E. Church in Paton at 2 p.m. with Rev. Arthur Henry in charge and the Methodist minister at Boxholm assisting. Pall bearers were six boys of her graduating class: Robert Carey, Samuel Tonkinson, Russell Finger, Howard Wahl, Harold Klocksiem, and Howard Klocksiem. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Among those attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Muench of Plainfield; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Muench of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Fowler and three daughters of Newton; Miss Grace Burgoon of Minneapolis; Miss Nellie Burgoon of Marshalltown; and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gunderson of Des Moines.
