Poplar St., Kokomo died Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. at the Tipton County Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born in Atlanta Feb. 15, 1909, the daughter of Harmon E. and Olive B. Poplar St., Kokomo died Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. at the Tipton County Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born in Atlanta Feb. 15, 1909, the daughter of Harmon E. and Olive B. Thomas Tomlinson. On Feb. 15, 1969, she married Charles Polk. Mrs. Polk had lived in Tipton for 35 years and was a retired employee of Delco Radio in Kokomo. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tipton, Ladies of the Moose of Kokomo, and U.A. W. local No. 292 of Kokomo. She is survived by the husband; a son, Lester C. Rubush of Elwood; a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Keown of Swayzee; four sisters, Mrs. Vernice Carr of Elwood, Mrs. Fern Shook of Largo Fla., Mrs. Doris Smith of Tipton and Mrs. Lilin Hashbuger of LaFountain; five brothers, Allen Tomlinson of Lansing, Mich., Guy Tomlinson of Middletown, Ralph Tomlinson of Martinsville, Richard Tomlinson of Tipton and William Tomlinson of Florida and five grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton with Rev. Roy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Young-Nichols Funeral Home Friday and at the church one hour before the services Saturday. Notes: Opal was first married to Joseph Raymond Miller on March 13, 1926... the couple were later divorced. They had two children from this marriage: Jean Alice James She died at Tipton Co. Hospital 11/7/1973. Aged 64 years, 7 months, 22 days.
